    • Deadline Approaching for Oct 14 Workshop on Creativity

    Monday, Oct. 12, is the last day to sign-up for Lifestyle Design Coach Jenny Ferry’s workshop, “Harnessing Your Creativity for Work That THRIVES,” set for Wednesday, Oct. 14, 3-5 p.m., at Maynards Market & Kitchen, 400 N. Toole Ave.

    Ferry will use discussion, small-group exercises and inner journeys to help you not only tap the creativity locked within you, but how to use it to better your work product.

    Ferry founded Crest of Your Life, a learning and development firm. She’s a seasoned business consultant in leadership development, strategic planning and executive coaching.

    Four people have joined IABC/Tucson in the last two weeks. They are:

    Sierra Southwest Cooperative Inc.’s Heather Floyd, communications and marketing administrator, and Geoff Oldfather, communications and public relations manager. Their colleague, Kiri Hall, also is a member.

    Paula Bohte, graphic designer and owner of Bohte Design. Bohte joined IABC in Minneapolis seven years ago, recently moved to Sierra Vista and transferred her membership to Tucson.

    Jaime Williams, an independent marketing communications consultant who checked out IABC/Tucson in its sneak peek program.

    Read About Engaging Employees at Your Workplace

    Linda Heffernen with the UA’s Change Initiative and IABC/Tucson member Daphne Gilman led a roundtable discussion on strategies for engaging employees in the corporate workplace. IABC/Tucson member Dina Doolen put together some of Heffernen’s findings and tips in an article posted at www.iabctucson.com/news%20from%20Employee%20Engagement%20Strategies.html

    Minneapolis Exchange Focuses on Latest Trends

    IABC’s Pacific Plains Region’s annual conference in October features speakers and session tracks on issues members said they wanted to learn more about. They include social media employee communications
    measurement/ROI in communications strategic planning
    economy/communicating in a down economy
    environment-friendly communication strategies.

    The Oct. 11-13 conference activities will be led by experts from such leading firms as General Mills, Microsoft, Best Buy and the Mayo Clinic. Be smarter, be connected, be heard at the conference that draws IABC members from the Midwest, West and Four Corners.     Reminders

    Savings abound during two IABC membership programs. World Membership Month that ends Sept. 30 waives the one-time registration fee of up to $40 for new members. Starting Oct. 1, current members who help bring new members to the organization get three free months of membership.
