Cactus Quill Awards, 2006

Twenty-three entries received awards of excellence and merit in IABC/Tucson's 5th annual Cactus Quill Awards presented June 1, 2006.

Each winner earned a sparkling glass cactus for an entry that judges deemed of high or excellent quality in business communications programs, projects and talent.

Winning awards were entries from:

  • ASU Research Publications
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona
  • Clerk of the Superior Clerk, Maricopa County
  • Family Legacy Video, Inc.
  • Pima Association of Governments
  • Raytheon Missile Systems
  • SAHRA, University of Arizona
  • SCF Arizona
  • Southern Arizona Chapter of STC
  • Western Sky Communications

Entries were judged by IABC's Oregon/Columbia and Topeka chapters. The 2006 Cactus Quill Awards were sponsored by Tucson Electric Power, Hughes Federal Credit Union and Innovative Mailing Service.

President-elect Elena Acoba presented the awards to IABC/Tucson members. The winners included:


Steve Pender, owner of Family Legacy Video


Sheila Storm, who won two awards for her work at Pima Association of Governments


A communications team at Raytheon Missile Systems, including IABC/Tucson member John Patterson


Len Keso from the Office of the Clerk of the Maricopa County Superior Court


IABC/Tucson member Martha Retallick, owner of Western Sky Communications
